Standing Seam Metal Roofing Panels

Standing Seam
Metal Roofing Products

Standing seam metal roofing is one of the most durable and weather-tight roof systems available in the industry. In contrast to exposed fastener systems, standing seam systems have concealed fastener designs so the fasteners are not exposed to the elements which could cause them to fail over time.

We Produce 3 Types of
Standing Seam Metal Roof Panels

There are 3 types of standing seam metal roofing panels and all of them are concealed-fastener systems. Accurate Metals offers all three types of standing seam roofing systems: snap-lock, nail strip and mechanically-seamed panels.

Mechanical Seam

Available in 1″, 1.5″ and 2″
Mechanically seamed metal roofing is the most weather-tight roofing system compared to the other standing seam systems, and mechanically seamed profiles are effective on both steep-slope and low-slope roof surfaces. A roof seamer is used to bend the roof panel edges interlocking the sheets together. A single lock or a double lock system can be used.

Double Lock systems have two folds with 180 degree seams. This technique used more often and is a more weather-tight connection.

Single Lock systems have one fold with 90 degree seams. It is used less often and typically on high sloped roofs.

Snap-Lock

Available in 1″ and 1.5″
Like mechanically-seamed systems, a snap lock standing seam metal roof panel has a male and female leg that run vertically up the slope of the roof. The difference is, snap-lock systems are manufactured in a way that allows the seams to snap and lock together without the use of a seaming tool. The panel is attached to the roof deck using clips that fasten underneath the panel and out of view, keeping the roof clean and smooth looking. Since the panels simply snap together, the installation takes less specialized tools and less labor hours, which can result in a more affordable installation in comparison to mechanically seamed metal roofs.

Nail Strip

Available in 1″ and 1.5″
A nail-strip system uses locking seams similar to a snap-lock system. The big difference between Nail Strip panels and other Standing Seam panels is that with Nail Strip, the male leg has a perforated nail flange used to fasten the panel directly to the decking. The female leg of the seam, snaps over the male leg, concealing the fasteners. The benefit of nail-strip systems is they are typically faster and more economical than the other two options.
